While almost all membrane switch technology is based upon a normally closed or normally open condition, our new variable resistance membrane switch enables a customer-defined variable resistance switch to be used as a potentiometer or a slide bar switch. By measuring the output resistance of these switches, a range of motion can be measured, and multiple positions selected, opening the possibilities of membrane switch technology to a much larger market.
